Rolling door won't open? Safe checks before you call
A few safe things to check in a couple of minutes — and what never to touch.
Quick, safe checks
Is there power to the operator (breaker, switch, disconnect)? Is a lock, slide bolt or padlock still engaged? Is anything blocking the guides or the bottom of the door? If you have a remote, does the wall button work?
What never to do
Don't adjust springs, tension wheels or cables, don't force the curtain up by hand if it's jammed, and don't walk or drive under a door that stopped partway.
