5 signs your dock leveler needs service
A leveler that's starting to fail usually tells you first. Catch these signs before it stops your dock.

1. The lip doesn't extend or lay flat
If the lip hesitates, doesn't fully extend or doesn't rest flat on the trailer bed, forklifts cross a step instead of a ramp.
2. The deck bounces or won't stay level
A deck that drifts, bounces or sits above or below dock level can point to worn springs, hold-downs or hydraulic issues.
3. Hydraulic fluid on the pit floor
Leaks around cylinders or hoses are worth a look before they become a leveler that won't rise.
4. New noises
Grinding, clunking or loud bangs when the deck moves or a forklift crosses usually mean something is loose or worn.
5. Visible damage
Cracked welds, a bent lip, damaged hinges or missing toe guards are safety issues — stop using the leveler and call us.
Preventive maintenance catches most of these early. Ask us for a plan sized to your number of docks.
